Leave my bones amongst you...

On 29 November 1530, the disgraced former first minister of Henry VIII, Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, died at Leicester Abbey. When the Cardinal arrived at the gates of the Abbey on 26 November 1530, he was reputed to have said, "Father Abbot, I am come hither to leave my bones amongst you" and so he did. Thomas Wolsey's final resting place is unknown, though it is believed to be in the grounds of the now ruined Leicester Abbey.
